"best garden hand tool ever" 2009-07-14
By Ginny Strobl
I've had a garden claw since they were first introduced. It's been so great in our clay, hardpan, and rocks. I've used it to work up so many flower beds that I was afraid it would eventually break. I bought the second one just in case. It would be a disaster if they were ever discontinued.

 "Well Balanced Tools" 2008-12-03
By Everett A. Warren (Northeast PA United States)
When I first came across these, I thought they looked neat, and maybe they might not function so bad. The look had additional marketing appeal for my landscaping company, something to set us aside from others.

However, I wasn't really sure they'd suit a functional purpose, so I tentatively ordered the shovel to give it a trial run and to see if I could live with it.

I've since gone out and stocked up on all the NRG-PRO tools, their hand tools, and I'm looking forward to at least some of the NRG-STX series tools as well.

All of the tools have a great balance. They are easier to control and carry materials across distances ~ a simple open hand across the circular handle keeps them from spinning and dropping whatever they're carrying. I've also found the handle design helps keep them from rolling or causing too much trouble when toting them around across the arms of a wheelbarrow.

The nice green does seem to get dulled quickly from the mud and, even when washed clean, still loses that new-tool shine. The business end has no such problems and remains easy to clean even when it has a right not to.

I'm tall ~ over 6' ~ and I never thought I'd like the short handles on these, however, I've found they're more comfortable even digging down below grade. This is a bit of personal taste, as my son, slightly shorter than I, prefers long handled tools.

The border fork is small ~ it might suit a smaller user, or meet specific needs for tight areas (which is what it is designed for). It does have the strength to handle abuse on the job. Although I'd prefer the larger digging fork, and probably wouldn't have more than one of these, it's still a quality tool and doesn't deserve points off for meeting a specific niche quite well.

 "Save your knees!" 2009-09-14
By Gadget Girl (Pennsylvania)
I really love this tool. I no longer have to crawl around in the garden, which I hate, and can completely weed, cultivate and tear out if necessary an entire flower bed in a fraction of the time it would take on my hands and knees with a hand-held cultivator. My flower beds look marvelous and I have people stopping by to take a look and compliment. Very happy with the use and the results.

 "Works great" 2009-07-06
By Alice in Wonderland
When I first got this thing, I must admit, I was really dubious. It looks odd and gimmicky. Well, using it in my garden has turned me into a believer! It works great on my thick, clay-heavy soil - quickly cultivating the ground, breaking it up and preparing for my attentions. It works great and I highly recommend it!

"Garden Weasel Golden Claw Cultivator" 2009-06-04
By SandalGal (Albuquerque)
The Gold Claw Cultivator arrived within the promised shipping time, but the top of its shipping box had been slightly damaged. The hardware (nuts and bolts) needed for its assembly were missing and may have escaped the damaged box. This was not a major concern because suitable nuts and bolts were readily obtained at a local hardware store. The Garden Claw now works quite well.

the weasel worked out great for me as I have a small raised bed garden. I had a choice of getting the weasel or a small tiller. I made the best choice. The weasel is easy to use and i get the exersize that I needed also. Its a great cultivator.

 "Great design" 2009-05-05
By David Linzer (New York)
Great design, you can work all day and not hurt you hands. It does take a little time to re-train you hands, but it is clearly better. Better leverage also. Regular garden tools seem so primitive when you get used to these.

The blade and the handle are one piece of metal so no problems with handles coming loose or breaking.

The only bad thing I can say is they take up more room in a toolbox because of the curved handles. But well worth the space.

I have the whole set of hand tools, plus 2 shovels and a pitchfork. All great. Truly, the next step in garden tools.

"Excellent Ergonomic Grip on Radius tools" 2008-05-25
By Leo C. Lin (NJ)
The curved ergonomic grip allows excellent leverage when digging & cultivating. I could apply much stronger force without stressing out my wrists and forearm as in traditional straight grips.
